Pride of Baltimore Model
The Pride of Baltimore was an authentic 1976 reproduction of a 19th century Baltimore Clipper schooner known as the "Chasseur". Chasseur was sailed by American privateer Captain Thomas Boyle out of Fells Point, Baltimore during the War of 1812. Boyle sailed to the British Isles in 1814 to attack the British merchant fleet, successfully capturing and sinking 17 vessels before returning to Baltimore.
Pride itself was lost at sea in 1986 north of Puerto Rico while serving as Maryland's Flagship and Goodwill Ambassador.
